Holly Holm out of her fight against Norma Dumont at UFC Fight Night 195

Former UFC women’s Bantamweight champion Holly Holm has pulled out of her scheduled fight against Norma Dumont in the main vent of UFC Fight Night 195. According to the reports Holly Holm has suffered an injury due to which she has to pull out from this fight. UFC Fight Night 195 will take place on October 16, 2021, at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, United States. MMA journalist Ariel Helwani first reported the news on Substack. According to the latest reports Aspen Ladd has stepped up to fight Norma on short notice.

According to MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani, Holm suffered a knee injury that forced her out of her featherweight fight against Dumont at UFC Vegas 40 on October 16. Before Holm was scheduled to face Julianna Pena at UFC on ESPN 24. However, Holm was forced to withdraw from the bout citing hydronephrosis. Now Holly Holm was scheduled to face Norma Dumont in a featherweight bout on October 16, 2021, at UFC Fight Night 195, but unfortunately, she had to withdraw due to a knee injury. The bad patch for Holly seems to have gotten bigger. She hasn’t competed since 2020.

Holly Holm was scheduled to face Irene Aldana on August 1, 2020, at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan. However, Aldana pulled out of the fight for undisclosed reasons. Aldana revealed that the reason for withdrawal was testing positive for COVID-19. As a result, Holm was removed from the card as well and the pairing rescheduled for October 4, 2020, at UFC on ESPN: Holm vs. Aldana. Holm won the fight via unanimous decision. She hasn’t fought since then as she was scheduled twice but the fights couldn’t take place due to her injuries.

Norma Dumont is the new young fighter in the UFC who is slowly climbing the ranks of the bantamweight division. Dumont made her promotional debut on February 29, 2020, at UFC Fight Night 169 against Megan Anderson. She lost the fight via knockout in round one. The loss was her first professional loss as he had got into the UFC as an undefeated fighter. Now she is coming off two back-to-back wins over top women fighters in the bantamweight division. She scored wins over Ashlee Evans-Smith and Felicia Spencer and both of those wins were by decision.
