Former women’s bantamweight champion Holly ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ Holm will take on #7 ranked young, exciting and undefeated prospect in Aspen ‘The Elbow Princess’ Lad (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in a pivotal bantamweight bout at UFC 235 on March 2.

Holm (12-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) has had a tough stint being 2-4 in her last six fights. However got things back on track with a lopsided unanimous decision victory over a dangerous Megan Anderson at UFC 225 back in June last year.

Despite fighting her last two fights at featherweight, Holm wishes to continue her career at bantamweight and wants the only legend she hasn’t faced yet, double champ Amanda Nunes at bantamweight. (via YouTube) :

“I think that bantamweight is probably where we would fight, I think that would be the case,” Holm recently told MMA Fighting. “Who knows really how the future goes, but I definitely think that bantamweight is what we would fight at. I’ve been wanting to go to bantamweight for a while, but that doesn’t mean that I’m so focused on it that I’m not open to other opportunities at ‘45. I’m just taking each fight as it comes. Aspen Ladd is at 135, so that’s where I’m going.”

Holm however understands the fact that she will have to hand Ladd her first defeat to do so.
