Evander Holyfield is ready for the trilogy fight against his arch-rival Mike Tyson.Evander Holyfield open to 3rd fight with Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield trilogy could be a possibility shortly as both of these fighters have shown interest in it. On Nov. 28, Iron mike, 54, heads back into the ring when he faces fellow legend Roy Jones Jr in a boxing match set to take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles. With Jones just a few months shy of his 52nd birthday, one would assume that this is a one-off for both men, but if there’s enough interest Mike is open to possibly extending his return.

Both the ex-heavyweight champions have come out of retirement to continue their already legendary careers. Holyfield – who twice beat Iron Mike – is training again to return for an exhibition, but is yet to have a confirmed opponent. Mike, 54, on the other hand, is facing Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an eight-round pay-per-view spectacle later this month.

According to TMZ’s sources, the reformed Baddest Man on The Planet snubbed Holyfield, 58, to instead fight Jones.

They said: “It’s not even about the money at this point, I think Tyson is scared.

“We’ve offered multiple times and Tyson vs. Holyfield is the fight that should happen.”

Holyfield and Tyson one more time

They act like I got one ear!' - Evander Holyfield makes light of memes about Mike Tyson

Holyfield and Mike previously met twice during the height of the heavyweight boxing scene in the 1990s. In 1996, these two met for the first time with Holyfield winning the WBA heavyweight title with an 11th-round knockout. Then in 1997, the two met in a high-profile rematch, and Tyson was disqualified after biting Holyfield’s ear in the third round. 23 years later and it appears as though we finally might get some closure on this rivalry.

In the years since they have made up and formed a friendship, and Holyfield teased a trilogy online. He posted a picture of him punching Mike, along with the caption: “Who would like to see Holyfield vs Tyson 3?”

Iron Mike responded to the speculation about another fight with his great rival in an interview with Jim Gray. Tyson said: “That’s always something that we can do if the people want it, if it’s pragmatic enough, I’d love to do it.”

Evander Holyfield is one of his possible opponents from the lot. Considering their intense rivalry from the past, Tyson vs Holyfield 3 can be one of the biggest trilogies to ever take place in the sport. No wonder fight fans are highly excited to witness the historic matchup.
