Ian Garry, the No. 7-ranked welterweight, is set to make his return to the octagon this weekend at UFC 303. His opponent? The flashy and hard-hitting Michael ‘Venom’ Page.
However, Garry is unfazed by MVP’s popularity. He firmly believes that Page lacks the skills to compete against top-tier welterweights and boldly predicts that their clash will mark the end of Page’s career.
Ian Garry doesn't think MVP is good enough to beat him or anyone above him in the rankings:
"[MVP] never won a world title in Bellator… he couldn't do it at Bellator he thinks he's gonna do it here?

In an interview with Scott Fontana of the New York Post Sports, Ian Garry expressed his lack of interest in fighting Page: “I have zero interest in fighting MVP. I did it to fight on the same card as Conor [McGregor], and people give him hype. He never won a world title at Bellator, and now he’s coming to the UFC, which is the greatest organization in fighting. He thinks he’s going to come into this division and win a world title? He’s not going to touch me or anyone above me in the rankings.”
Garry, who is ten years younger than Page, emphasized his advantages: “I’m faster, prettier, and more technical. In every single way, I’m going to outclass him and prove that there are levels to this game.”
Ian Garry eyes for a fight with Conor McGregor
While Ian Garry accepted the fight with Page, he had initially hoped to face fellow Irishman Conor McGregor. Unfortunately, McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury. Garry’s acceptance of the Page bout was influenced by the lack of other suitable opponents in the rankings.
For this fight to happen, Garry laid down one condition: “Unless he passes me in the division somehow, and his number’s higher than mine, zero interest.”
As the anticipation builds for UFC 303, fight fans eagerly await the clash between these two welterweights. Will Garry’s predictions hold true, or will Page prove him wrong? Only time will tell.
