Robert Whittaker continued his momentum by winning the highly anticipated main event bout at UFC Saudi Arabia. The Aussie defeated short-notice opponent Ikram Aliskerov via KO in the first round of the fight. Initially, Whittaker was meant to face Khamzat Chimaev, but his bout with Aliskerov went well.
During the post-fight press conference, Robert Whittaker was asked if not facing Khamzat Chimaev was a better option for him. With a chuckle, ‘Bobby Knuckles’ made a sarcastic joke about various factors that could have affected the fight’s outcome. He quipped, “If I had wheels, I’d be a bike… what if I would’ve scrambled eggs instead of waffles this morning, I don’t know. I understand Chimaev is a hard fight, but I didn’t say no to fight him.”
Whittaker’s humor aside, the fight against Aliskerov showcased his dominance. Israel Adesanya had predicted that Whittaker could make Khamzat Chimaev look bad, comparing Chimaev to Yoel Romero. Although the Chimaev fight didn’t happen, Whittaker’s performance spoke volumes.

As for Khamzat Chimaev, he had to pull out due to food poisoning. The undefeated ‘Borz’ still has unfinished business with Whittaker, and he recently warned the Aussie that they would meet soon. A win over Whittaker could propel Chimaev to a title shot, but for now, the fighter will have to wait for that opportunity.
