The Inaugural event of Wardog MMA fight series has been forced to be rescheduled.
The event, which was scheduled to take place on June 30, 2018, at the Khudiram Anushilan Kendra in Kolkata will now be moved to a different date which will be announced by the organizers soon.
The decision to reschedule the event was made after a political party needed the venue for one of their events on the same date. Promoter Ratul Mukherjee gave an official statement about the situation to the MMA India Show and you can read it below.
“We have been asked to reschedule due to urgency. Hence, in fact, they have assured me that this issue will not happen next time. We have been doing in the same venue for a long time. As it is a govt property we can’t do anything but yes we are rescheduling it. You know we have to lay low as we have to run a business here and hopefully we will be scheduling one in Mizoram in upcoming. This is the first time we have faced the issue so I really don’t want to do a blame game. Ye,s we have faced this issue but we are good to go. May be we have something good. So I don’t want to complain. This is the beauty and challenge of a promoter. I will be announcing new dates soon and I hope I will get it in the same venue,” he told
Despite the change of dates, the fight card of the event is unlikely to have major changes and will be headlined by the showdown between Ateet Kelvin Gupta and Roshan Mainam Luwang.
