Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira, the two former kickboxers are now set to lock horns after six years as mixed martial artists, as the highly anticipated fight is now finally confirmed to be taking place in the main event of UFC 281 on 12th November at the Madison Square Garden.
Back in 2016, Adesanya and Pereira squared off for the first time at Glory of Heroes, which saw the latter picking up a win via unanimous decision. Now, as MMA fighters, the rematch between the two is finally taking place at one of the most quintessential fight venues in the world.
As of now, the Nov 12 card has no other fights announced apart from the sparkling main event, but according to Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour, a 155-pound super fight between Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler is also being targeted for UFC 281.

Israel Adesnaya, the reigning UFC Middleweight champion is undefeated at 185 but this time, he will be putting his title on the line against a fighter who has been triumphant over him, Alex Pereira.
The two are yet to share the Octagon, but were active on the same UFC 276 fight card last month, when Adesanya defeated Jared Cannonier in the main event, while Pereira made easy work of Sean Strickland with a 1st round KO on the undercard.
Upon the official announcement of his 6th upcoming title defense, “The Last Stylebender” took to Twitter to issue a fiery reaction.
“Vengeance is mine says the lord.” Adesanya tweeted, “Brooooo I said the same thing too!! This ends here. Kill or be killed”
