Israel Adesanya disputes Yoel Romero’s legitimacy on social media

Israel Adesanya, the UFC interim middleweight champion, has his target set on Robert Whittaker. But the groundwork for another fight in the future may have been already set.

A Twitter user angered Adesanya this week by seemingly making his choice for the fight between Adesanya and Whittaker and he picked Whittaker to win. The said Twitter user gave an explanation for his choice. He mentioned the fact that Whittaker fought the seemingly young Yoel Romero two times and won both of the bouts.

Adesanya wasn’t pleased with the fact that someone would give credit to Whittaker for emerging victorious against the 42-year-old Yoel Romero, and at the same time, overlook Adesanya’s victory against Anderson Silva who was 44 year old at the time of the fight.

…and tha (expletive) what. Y’ll act like Romero is the champ, never makes weight, never won a UFC belt.
Them: β€œyOu foUGht aN OLd sIlVa!!”
Me: Anderson is 44, Yoel is 42β€¦πŸ˜‚πŸ€«

When another Twitter user pointed out that Yoel Romero’s late-career reemergence and Silva’s late-career downfall aren’t the same things, Adesanya struck back.

πŸ€¨β€¦you humpty dumpty motha(expletives) are so dumbΒ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
