UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is planning a particularly creative way of stopping Sean Strickland.
I’m not going to lose to an idiot: Israel Adesanya
The two are set to lock horns in the main event of UFC 293 next month. The fight will mark the return of “Stylebender” since he regained the 18-pound gold in the rematch against Alex Pereira at UFC 287 back in April.
On the other hand, “Tarzan” is 2-0 in the Octagon this year already, having marked consecutive victories against Abus Magomedov and Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Vegas 67 and UFC Vegas 76 respectively.
Now as their upcoming clash approaches, Adesanya and Strickland have been trading grudges at each other. During a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Adesanya responded to Strickland’s statements about his painted nails.
“He’s an idiot. I’m not going to lose to an idiot. He says he’s not going to lose to a guy that jerks off to cartoons or paints his nails. Well, I’m going to paint my nails for that fight and I’m going to knock him out with my painted nails… I don’t listen to people [telling me I should win]. That’s [how]. I only listen to me and my team and this guy, he’s already pissed me off with his energy. The way he comes across and the way he tries to antagonize me,” said Adesanya.
“I don’t like the way he conducts himself,” the middleweight champ went on. “Even his sparring footage will pop up in my feed sometimes and I’m just like what the f***? Who does that? He’s a gym hero. He’s just an idiot and he’s not the kind of person I associate myself with and also he’s fugazi.” [H/T MMA Fighting]
