In a recent episode of his podcast, “FREESTYLEBENDER,” Israel Adesanya shared his thoughts on the upcoming UFC 311 clash between Renato Moicano and Beneil Dariush. Adesanya, known for his candidness, highlighted a key aspect that could give Moicano an edge in the fight: momentum.
Adesanya emphasized that Moicano’s current four-fight win streak, which includes three finishes, is a significant advantage. “I always like a guy with momentum. There’s something about a guy when he has nothing to lose and you’re like, ‘oh, two fight skid, what’s he going to do?’ But then when a guy has momentum and that energy like Moicano has – not just in the cage, out of the cage – I feel like there’s something there powerful that you can harness,” Adesanya said.
Israel Adesanya Opens up on Beneil Dariush’s Grappling Skills
On the other hand, Israel Adesanya acknowledged Dariush’s superior grappling skills but pointed out that Dariush is coming off a long layoff. “Dariush is a different level grappler. He’s taken time off now to work on things, let his body heal and not take fights back to back,” Adesanya added. “If I would pick, I’d go Moicano in this fight just because of the momentum and also because Dariush is coming off a long layoff.”
Israel Adesanya concluded by saying that if Dariush can get past the first round or have success early in the fight, it could be a challenging night for Moicano. However, he ultimately predicted a decision victory for Moicano.
As UFC 311 approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting this highly anticipated bout. Will Moicano’s momentum be enough to secure him a victory, or will Dariush’s grappling prowess and experience prevail?
