Israel Adesanya is yet to solve the toughest riddle of his fighting career, and that riddle is Alex Pereira. And before they lock horns once again at UFC 287 next month, Adesanya sees the fight as his last shot to finally avenge his losses.

Adesanya and Pereira will face off for the fourth time (second in a mixed martial arts setting) at UFC 287 on 8th April in Miami, where “Poatan” will put his UFC Middleweight title on stake.

The fight is an immediate rematch of their UFC 281 clash last November when Pereira ended Adesanya’s unbeaten middleweight run, as well as won the 185-pound gold in the process.

Prior to MMA, Adesanya and Pereira crossed paths twice in kickboxing, and on all three occasions, the victories were Pereira’s. Now with UFC 287, Adesanya has one final chance at finally turning the tide and getting the better of the Brazilian.

Despite being 0-3 against one of the most intimidating fighters in combat sports, Adesanya is still aiming to give his 100% into the fight, as he sees it as one last shot at making a comeback.

“Yeah I do,” said Adesanya during a BTS clip of the UFC 287 fight camp on his YouTube. “This is kind of poetic, in a way. This is my last shot, and I’m gonna give it all I got.”

Prior to Pereira’s entry into the records, Adesanya was unbeaten in the middleweight division and had lost only once in his Light Heavyweight debut against the former champ Jan Blachowicz. He had clinched the interim 185-pound title against Kelvin Gastelum and then unified the belt against Robert Whittaker, followed by five title defenses.
