The trade involving Demetrious Johnson and Ben Askren is one of the biggest talking points in the MMA Circles right now. It was something previously unheard of and almost everyone has weighed in on the situation.
The latest fighter to talk about the issue is Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza. Souza is set to fight Chris Weidman at UFC 230 this weekend in Weidman’s home state of New York. And after the open workout, Souza talked to the media about the trade deal involving Johnson and Askren.
He revealed that he was ‘upset at first’ that UFC lost a fighter like Johnson. You can see the interview below.
Johnson holds an impressive professional record of 27-3 to his name and was dominating the UFC Flyweight division. His undefeated run, however, was put to an end by Henry Cejudo who defeated Johnson at UFC 227 via decision.
Askren, meanwhile, has a history of fighting in ONE championship and Bellator MMA. He is undefeated throughout his career and has already called out almost all the big names that UFC has on its roster.
