Celebrity Boxer Jake Paul and UFC welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal have turned their backs on each other after being training partners during Jake’s fight with Ben Askren.
It doesn’t take much time in combat sports for things to turn up bad. Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal who trainer together during Jake’s fight with Ben Askren have now been trash-talking with each other. Jake Paul is now just days away from his fight with former welterweight champ and Jorge’s good friend Tyron Woodley. During Jake’s previous fight with Ben Askren, he trained with Jorge Masvidal, who knocked out Ben in 5-seconds in their fight at UFC.
But now since Jake is about to fight Tyron Woodley who is a good friend of Jorge Masvidal, it seems like now Jorge would take the side of Tyron. Recently Jorge Masvidal predicted that Tyron would knock out Jake Paul.
Masvidal told The MMA Hour’s Ariel Helwani, “If Jake wins, f—king wild, my hat’s off to him, I was wrong, I don’t know s—t about fighting. But, chances are, Woodley’s going to knock him the f—k out.”
These comments stirred up the things with Jake Paul who went all guns blazing on Jorge Masvidal.
“He’s going to eat those words very quickly,” Paul told MMAMania.com about Masvidal. “This is coming from a guy who just got knocked out cold in an embarrassing way… So yeah, maybe he doesn’t know that much about fighting. He’s been in this game for a long time. he’s got a lot of fights. he’s got a lot of experience. I respect him. I think Jorge has done a lot for this sport. I think he’s a good guy, but, unfortunately, my friend it’s a new era. No matter how much experience you have, it’s about the quality of the experience.”
In another interview during the open workouts session, Jake went on to say that Masvidal is not a smart guy and also said that he would love to fight Masvidal one day.
“I wasn’t surprised by Masvidal,” Paul told reporters, at Wednesday’s open workouts. “He has the same manager as Woodley and the guy’s kind of an airhead. Let’s be honest. Masvidal’s not smart. Does anyone here listen to a Masvidal interview and go, ‘Oh wow, that guy’s intellectual. He’s a smart guy. The way he talks, he’s very well-spoken.’ He’s a street fighter gangster who got knocked the f*ck out in his last fight, so maybe he’s losing a couple brain cells.”
“If you want to switch up – at one moment he’s my friend – he’s saying, ‘Let’s train, let’s do a video together. You come to my bakery down the street I want to do a thing with you,” Paul said. “Then, oh, snap, all of a sudden he wants to switch up. That’s now how I was raised. Not here in Ohio. If you want me to be your friend, I’m your friend. If he wants to switch up, hoes will be hoes.”
“I would love to fight Masvidal,” Paul said. “I think it could very much so happen.”
The duo of Paul and Masvidal also fiercely engaged on Twitter.
You played yourself. It’s super necessary you get your boss Dana to give you permission to get in the ring with me since you supposed to be nice with your “hands” https://t.co/nWup8UT1nQ pic.twitter.com/1ZerG8oaaH

Masvidal replying to all those interviews said “I guess this means you’ll stop hitting me up now on social media to hang out and train. Don’t worry about me you got a handful of problems coming your way #supernecessary“
To which Paul instantly replied saying “You played yourself. It’s super necessary you get your boss Dana to give you permission to get in the ring with me since you are supposed to be nice with your “hands.”
