The boxing match between Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is confirmed and will be taking place on August 29.

One of the most intriguing boxing matches recently announced was between Celebrity boxer Jake Paul and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley’s saga started when they first clashed during Jake Paul vs Ben Askren’s boxing match. They ran into each other and exchanged some words with each other. After Jake Paul knocked out Ben who is a training partner of Woodley, Tyron called out Jake for a boxing match.

A few days later it was decided that these two will meet in august in the boxing ring. Showtime later announced the fight will take place on Aug. 28, with ESPN reporting it will be contested at 190 pounds inside of a 20-foot ring. A location and venue have yet to be determined.

“The Jake Paul-Tyron Woodley fight is set for Aug. 29 on Showtime PPV, a source told ESPN. There’s a news conference Tuesday in L.A. to formally announce. Another Sunday PPV for Showtime following Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul. es.pn/3hR95ct

Now the official announcement of the fight will soon take place next week and the fight is done deal. Both the fighter are in their training camps for one of the biggest celebrity boxing matches.

Tyron Woodley seems ready for Jake Paul

Tyron was released from the UFC after losing the fourth consecutive fight in his UFC career. He was on the declining road of his fighting career and UFC decided the right thing to release him. He will now be fighting Jake Paul in the boxing ring and that fight will easily be his biggest payday till now.

“When people press me, they get knocked the f*ck out, every single time,” Woodley said. “Who’s pressed me and not got knocked out? When I sat back and I let people in on the fight and I let people be like, ‘Ah, I’m waiting on Tyron to do what he normally does and when I didn’t do it, it gave them the confidence and courage to walk down. Then they’ve got a chance.

“I think he’s got enough intelligence – he’s stupid as hell but he’s smart as f*ck on the low – he’s gonna be coached by people that tell him, ‘Okay, this is what he did, the people that did good against him, they did this.’ Who would not look back? He’s got way more footage of me than I do of him. He’s gonna watch so much film, so many people are gonna watch it, they’re gonna break it down, people I’ve trained with, sparring partners, coaches probably, he’s gonna do whatever it takes to get any intel because he has to. He can’t make up for 30 years as an athlete.”

On the other hand, Jake Pual is confident enough that he can take Woodley in the deep rounds of the fight and defeat him.

“This will be the hardest fight I’ve had, the toughest opponent by far, the most known opponent,” Paul wrote on his Instagram. “We will break another boxing PPV record.”

my pro fights haven’t lasted long, but in sparring, I love taking my opponents into deep waters and drowning them with my overwhelming cardio, consistency, and precise punch selection… Soon we will see how well Tyron can swim,” Paul wrote on Instagram.
