Jake Paul is all set to fight Nate Diaz, but not in the squared circle, in the cage, as “The Problem Child” wants to become the Stockton superstar’s final UFC opponent and has nodded to the proposition from Dana White.

It all started when Nate Diaz, who has reached the final fight on his current UFC deal, accused the promotion of pulling the plug on him repeatedly and called for a release so he can look for other endeavors.

Diaz recently made a post on Twitter on a similar notion, calling for either a release from the UFC or put him up against “anyone” in July or August, with an attached video clip from Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley rematch from December, as many MMA enthusiasts claimed that it was a tease to face the YouTuber-turned-pro boxer.

Reacting to Diaz’s call, UFC president Dana White said him facing off Jake Paul in a boxing match “makes sense”, as well as pointing out that the former Lightweight title contender has been victorious only once in the last five-six years.

“I mean, I like Nate, let’s be honest, Nate’s won one fight in the last five years or six years, you know that. When these guys get into these positions, guys that have been with us for a long time that we respect and we care about. You got the Cerrone’s, Anthony Pettis before he left, Nate Diaz, and Nick Diaz is still under contract with us. You want to be fair to everybody and do the right things,” White told TheMacLife.

“Nate isn’t going to fight Kamaru Usman, listen we are trying to do the best we can, trying not too shit on anybody and disrespect anybody. It’s not like we are talking about Kamaru Usman here we are talking about Nate Diaz. Nate’s won one fight in five years, so we are trying to figure this thing out with him. He probably should go on and fight Jake Paul, that’s a fight that makes sense,” the UFC prez added. [H/T BJPenn.com]

Upon hearing the green light from Dana White himself, Jake Paul took to Twitter to respond to both him as well as Diaz, stating that he is willing to be the latter’s final UFC opponent and is even ready to step inside the Octagon for free but on one condition- the UFC needs to “pay fighters more and give them healthcare.”
