Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz has soared into the headlines again, as he has challenged Israel Adesanya to have a rematch, and is willing to come down at middleweight for the belt.
Jan Blachowicz wants a shot at Adesanya’s Middleweight title
Blachowicz battled Adesanya in the latter’s debut in Light Heavyweight at UFC 259 back in March 2021, where the Polish fighter handed Izzy his first career defeat via unanimous decision victory.
Now, as “The Last Stylebender” avenged his loss in the rematch against Alex Pereira at UFC 287 last Saturday night and also regained his 185-pound belt in the process, Blachowicz is ready to offer Adesanya another rematch in his next outing- a fight for Adesanya’s middleweight title.
Congratulating Adesanya in his victory, Blachowicz tweeted his rematch offer soon after UFC 287.
“Congratulations on a successful rematch, @stylebender. If you want to try another one, you know where to find me. This time at middleweight for your belt. #UFC287,” Blachowicz tweeted.

Following the victory over Adesanya two years back, Blachowicz’s short reign as the 10-pound champion ended against Glover Teixeira at UFC 267 in October 2021. Following that loss, Blachowicz returned victorious against Aleksandar Rakić at UFC Vegas 54 in May last year, followed by a split decision draw against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 282 in December.
Adesanya, meanwhile, regained his status as the UFC Middleweight champion after his triumph in the much awaited rematch against longtime rival Alex Pereira at UFC 287, avenging his defeat from UFC 281 last November when “Poatan” clinched the 185-pound belt from Adesanya.
