In the main event of UFC Minneapolis at the Target Center, former UFC heavyweight title challenger Francis Ngannou knocked out former UFC heavyweight champion in the first round of UFC on ESPN 3.

Before the fight, there was quite a few backs and forth verbal jabs between the fighters when Ngannou questioned the legitimacy of JDS’ Jiu-Jitsu black belt.

But inside the Octagon it was just Ngannou imposing his will on JDS. Right from the beginning, Ngannou started with kicks and then he finally dropped JDS then swarmed with punches on the ground before the referee stepped in to stop the action. It took Ngannou a little over a minute to finish JDS.

After the TKO loss, Cigano took to Instagram to deliver his fans a message and revealed how a “millisecond mistake” cost him the fight against Ngannou.

“Guys, first of all I want to thank everybody for your support. I’m sorry the show was short this time, and without a great result for us. I’ve been on top of this sport and weight class for over a decade, and I plan to be here for a long time still. I love fighting, I love my life, and I’m really grateful for every opportunity I have to grow and evolve.

“The climb is tough and long, as you all know and sometimes — like tonight — months of perfect preparation and strategy are overshadowed by a millisecond mistake. There isn’t much to say now other than to congratulate Francis Ngannou for capitalizing so effectively on my mistake.”

Do you guys agree with JDS?
