Jessica Evil Eye is no new name in the MMA galleries. A fighter known for her toughness, Eye has had seen her share of ups and downs in her professional career. However, not many would know that this veteran had the misfortune of being bullied and beaten up in her childhood.
In her latest Instagram post, the Cleveland native posted an inspirational video showing her early days as a fighter and how she has moved up on the stairs of success. The caption supported the whole theme of the video in which she has talked about her struggles in earlier parts of her life.

However, the one more thing that was worth the attention was the fact that Eye believed her next fight would be announced soon. It comes as no surprise because just five days before ESPN’s Ariel Helwani had made the announcement on Twitter that a flyweight bout between Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye and Sijara Eubanks was being targeted for UFC 232. The yaer end card already has a women’s superfight between Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes.
Eye, 32, ended a four fight losing streak at 135 pounds after she dropped to her much familiar weight class of 125 pounds and defeated Kalindra Faria this past January. She continued her winning ways by defeating Jessica Rose-Clark, by virtue of a unanimous decision, back in June at UFC Singapore. A victory over Eubanks would push her to the front of the line for a title shot in the first half of the next year.
Eubanks, 33, captured a victory in her Octagon debut this past June when she defeated Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night 131 via unanimous decision. She was earlier expected to fight current UFC women’s flyweight champion Nicco Montano last year for the inaugural title, but a failed weight cut and subsequent hospitalization knocked her out of contention. “Sarge” now has another opportunity to prove her worth at 125 pounds against one of the toughest female fighters in the game today.
