The light heavyweight from the Czech Republic signed off UFC Vegas 25 with a spectacular finish that left former two-time title contender Dominick Reyes flat on the canvas. Reyes who is now on a three-fight losing streak got knocked out violently. He landed face-first on the mat and was stiff for a minute before he came back to consciousness.

Prochazka and Reyes went all out in those two rounds. After slugging it out on the feet in a non-stop action fight, Prochazka threw an elbow strike over the top and then came back with a spinning back elbow that wrecked Reyes’s face.

Before that Reyes was looking good in the first round as he blasted Jiri with some heavy leg kicks and also some stiff punches that snapped his opponent’s head back. Both of them had several exchanges but it was Jiri who seemed to have a greater effect on his opponent as Reyes was all bloodied up in the second round. Reyes tried his best to stay in the fight but the finishing spinning elbow was too much for him to handle.

Now 2-0 in the UFC, Prochazka has positioned himself as a potential title contender in his next fight.

“Yeah, I’m ready. Let’s do that,” Prochazka said about the title fight. “I like my neighbor [Jan] Blachowicz. Now it’s the fight Glover Teixeira vs. Blachowicz, yeah? So winner will be my next opponent? Ok that’s an honor for me. That’s a big honor for me.”

Before Saturday night, UFC President Dana White hinted that either Prochazka or Reyes would earn the shot at the winner of the upcoming fight between reigning light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira in September at UFC 266.

After his latest spectacular knockout of a top contender, he feels he should fight next for the title.

“Yes, I think I deserve that fight,” Prochazka said about competing for the title next. “But because my journey in the UFC is so quick and I’m not enjoying that so much like I want. I think yeah, I deserve that title fight.”

The reigning champion Jan Blachowicz proposed a challenge for Jiri and he wasted no time to accept it.

Prochazka said that it will be his pleasure to fight against Jan Blachowicz but only if he is successful to defend his title against Glover Teixeira.
