Joe Rogan feels his $100 Million Spotify move seems too good to be true

Popular UFC colour commentator Joe Rogan who is also a major stand-up comedian and podcast host is taking his world-renowned The Joe Rogan Experience podcast to Spotify. As soon as this news leaked, the internet was set on fire. Rogan has now confirmed the news and revealed that it feels fo surreal, that he feels it may be too good to be true.

Rogan told The New York Times in a recent interview that he feels rich now.

Why did Joe Rogan move his podcast to Spotify?

He also said that one of the major reasons behind him moving to Spotify was YouTube constantly demonetizing his videos. Here’s what he had to say:

(I feel) weirdly richer, like it doesn’t register. (It) seems fake. It feels gross (discussing the terms). Especially right now, when people can’t work. What Twitter is and what YouTube is are way bigger than a social media company. There is a real good argument that they should be like public utilities. What has made society better today than it was hundreds of years ago is not just our prosperity. It’s the evolution of ideas. Anything that wants to limit discussion is dangerous to the evolution of ideas. Why would I sell out now? You sell out to get what you want.

Rogan had previously earlier this past week announced to his fans that his podcast will exclusively be moving to Spotify via an Instagram post.

Here’s what he had to said back then, “Announcement: the podcast is moving to @spotify! Starting on September 1 the podcast will be available on Spotify as well as all platforms, and then at the end of the year it will move exclusively to Spotify, including the video version. It will remain FREE, and it will be the exact same show,” Joe Rogan said.

“It’s just a licensing deal, so Spotify won’t have any creative control over the show. They want me to just continue doing it the way I’m doing it right now. We will still have clips up on YouTube but full versions of the show will only be on Spotify after the end of the year. I’m excited to have the support of the largest audio platform in the world and I hope you folks are there when we make the switch!” Joe Rogan concluded.
