On a recent edition of the JRE podcast, Joe Rogan spoke to Brendan Schaub on a myriad of topics.

Most prominently, Rogan recalled Yoel Romero’s scary KO of Luke Rockhold.

Yoel Romero faced Luke Rockhold in a UFC Interim Middleweight title match at UFC 221.

After a couple of closely contested rounds, Romero blitzed Rockhold with a barrage of punches and pushed him towards the fence.

Romero then caught Rockhold with a picture-perfect left hand; dropping the latter, and following up with a brutal uppercut from hell—something that Joe Rogan discussed in detail.

Addressing Romero’s demeanor, Joe Rogan explained that the Cuban former-Olympian is one of the scariest people alive.

While Rogan added that Romero is a nice person outside the cage, during a fight, the latter is simply a monstrous being—capable of exploding into positions that the opponent least expects to, and capitalize from there onwards.

Furthermore, Rogan pointed out that the very fact Romero can appear to slow and rhythmic, and then all of a sudden burst into the opponent with either a takedown or a strike, harkens to Romero’s basic instinct of being able to maintain his composure in high-pressure situations.

On the other hand, Brendan Schaub added that he still believes Luke Rockhold can beat Yoel Romero. In fact, Schaub went on to say that Rockhold is the most complete fighter in the division, and although Undisputed UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker is on another level altogether, Rockhold still is one of the best.

One ought to note that owing to the fact Romero didn’t make the championship weight, 185 pounds, for his fight with Rockhold, he wasn’t awarded Interim Middleweight gold at UFC 221.

Regardless, as Joe Rogan pointed out, Yoel Romero is one of the scariest men to ever grace the MMA cage.
