After three grueling rounds, Brewin was able to get back to winning ways, in no small part thanks to his wrestling, which kept Cowley’s violent striking game at bay and secured yet another win for the young Kiwi fighter.
“I walked down with this flag. I know the strength of the people of New Zealand. This is a dark day in our country and I never imagined the size of the hatred in such a beautiful place. We will pull through this dark time”, said Brewin, who had trouble making the fight at all after he heard about the attacks.
“I have to thank my opponent. If it wasn’t for Cian Cowley I would probably pull out. I made the walk because it was him. He gave me the opportunity to face him and I’m thankful for that”, claimed the Kiwi warrior, who’s 3-1 for Brave.
In the main event of Brave 22: Storm of Warriors, Bantamweight champion Stephen Loman maintained his title with a TKO victory over challenger Elias Boudegzdame. He is the first man to finish “Smile” inside the Brave cage and stayed perfect under the promotion’s banner, improving to 5-0, and three title defenses to his name.
