Nate was subsequently taken away from the card as no replacement was found. The fans have been talking about the possibility of Conor McGregor stepping up to fight in short notice. A good portion of the fans still thinks that the trilogy fight would be good for UFC 230.

But now, McGregor’s coach Kavanagh has shot down the rumours. He pointed out on Twitter that McGregor is currently suffering medical suspension. At the same time, Kavanagh proposed the idea of Nate Diaz vs. Tony Ferguson.

You can see the tweet from Kavanagh below.

“Medical suspension folks. But Tony v nate?? “

Ferguson made a triumphant return to the cage last week at UFC 229 when he defeated Anthony Pettis at the event. He is now pushing his case for a bigger fight.
