Top UFC light heavyweight prospect Johnny Walker has been lately making a lot of headlines and has been the talk of the entire MMA world. Walker who last defeated Misha Cirkunov via another quick flashy KO via a flying knee and punches in the very first round itself at UFC 235. He is now eyeing higher ranked fighters as opponents. According to his manager, he wants to fight a top 10 ranked opponent in his next Octagon outing in September.
Walker has quickly made a name for himself due to his scary KO power and flashy stand-up striking skills. He has a professional MMA record of 17-3 and is currently undefeated in the UFC.
Walker’s manager Lucas Lutkus quite recently spoke to noted MMA journalist Ariel Helwani of ESPN. He told Helwani that Walker and his team want him to make comeback in September against a top 10 opponent. Here’s what he had to say:
A top-10 fighter is what we have been talking with the UFC about, (Walker) is No. 10 now with (Alexander) Gustafsson and (Jimi) Manuwa retired, so it is what makes sense.
Honestly, Johnny will take on any name offered, Be it a vet like Glover (Teixeira) or a prospect like (Dominick) Reyes or (Aleksander) Rakic, he loves every possibility of matchup.
