UFC light heavyweight champion and pound-for-pound #1, Jon Jones, has been plotting a potential move up to heavyweight for a while.

UFC 252 this weekend featured a title fight for heavyweight royalty as champion Stipe Miocic took on former double champ Daniel Cormier in a much-anticipated trilogy. The winner of the fight was expected to be crowned as ‘the best heavyweight of all time’. Miocic left no stone unturned on their rivalry as he defeated Cormier via unanimous decision.

Jones, however, wants to steal that thunder by adding that tagline to his own name. The light heavyweight champ took to social media laying out the exact blueprint he needs to defeat Miocic and become the “baddest man on the planet.” (via BJPENN.com):

Jones’ strategy to beat Miocic:

“Heavyweight world championships I will be seeing you real soon,” he wrote on Twitter during the UFC 252 broadcast. “Victorious”.

“For some reason, these heavyweights don’t seem so big to me tonight,” he continued in a follow-up Tweet.

“Avoid Stipe’s right hand, I’m too fast, I’ll be too strong when the time is right and have way too much energy,” Jones added, laying out what he believes is the right strategy to beat Miocic. “Soon and very soon I’ll be considered the baddest man on this planet.”

Miocic weighed in at 233 pounds, at which even many light heavyweights walk around. Jones, who walks around 220-225 pounds can weigh-in at a similar range when he decides to move up. He believes being the lighter guy will give him the speed advantage and not cutting weight will give him more energy.

Jones is currently facing some pay-related disputes with the UFC. He is thus expected to campaign for a super fight at heavyweight since he has achieved pretty much anything the light heavyweight division has to offer. Another name associated with him has been of heavyweight kingpin Francis Ngannou. He has also been demanding a money fight with boxing superstar Deontay Wilder.
