One of the greatest and baddest men to step inside the Octagon ever, Jon Jones is currently finding himself on a strange phase of his mixed martial arts career.

On one hand, the former two time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has been involved in turmoil against promotion president Dana White regarding his purse for a fight against Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. On the other hand, “Bones” is also paying no heed to the option of fighting former heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic.

While both Jones and Ngannou initially nodded to fight each other, reports suggest that the former demanded a $30 million paycheck from the fight, triple from what UFC offered him for the bout- $10 million.

This has landed Jones in the bad book of White, who dropped a massive bombshell following UFC 262 that  “nobody is going to force Jon Jones to fight” in the UFC again, and at the same time, booked Derrick Lewis as Ngannou’s title challenger.

My first fight back is going to be huge: Jon Jones hopes on a stunning return to the Octagon

Despite the scuffle with White about the fight purse and potentially losing out a chance to become champion in the heavyweight division, Jon Jones is still optimistic about his future and hopes to make his comeback to the Octagon in a magnificent manner.

Jones was recently engaged with his audience on Twitter on Monday, where he dropped some huge revelations about his future. After a user asked when Jones would be fighting next and about his future opponent, the 33-year-old said, “I’m really not sure when I’ll be fighting next, but some downtime after a decade of wins is a nice little change up right now.”

Last seen in action against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 back in February last year, Jones has been undefeated for the last decade since his only career loss against Matt Hamill in December 2009 at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale, suffering a disqualification.

Replying to another, the number one UFC men’s pound-for-pound fighter insisted that he will not become irrelevant from the sport: “Impossible, my name will ring bells in the combat sports world until the day I die and after. My first fight back is going to be huge no matter when it is.”
