Jon Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion and current heavyweight champion, has fired back at his former rival, Dominick Reyes. The dispute centers around their title fight at UFC 247 in 2020, which Jones officially won via unanimous decision. However, many online critics questioned the scoring, with some believing Reyes had won.
Dominick Reyes recently reiterated his claim that he beat Jones during their fight. In response, Jones took to Twitter, saying, “What a claim to fame, almost beat Jon Jones. Got full of myself and literally couldn’t win another fight.” He also advised Reyes to reflect on his own performance and accept that he didn’t do enough to secure the victory.

Jon Jones Hits Back At Dominick Reyes
“Dominic, when you look back at our fight, I don’t want you to ever question me or those judges,” Jones wrote. “Look at your own heart, your own endurance, you didn’t do enough. The sooner you accept that, the better athlete you’ll become.”
After losing to Jones in 2020, Reyes faced three consecutive defeats. However, he returned to the win column recently by defeating Dustin Jacoby at UFC on ESPN 57. Meanwhile, Jones vacated his light heavyweight title after the Reyes fight and made a triumphant return in 2023, winning the UFC heavyweight title.
Jones is currently recovering from surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle and is expected to defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic in November.
