When the MMA fans think about the most exciting rivalry all through the years of MMA among fighters, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier stands out to be the greatest of them all. The rivalry stands so intimidatingly as it’s between the two of the finest fighters who have ever entered the octagon. The skills they portray, the intensity they bring mixed with the bad blood they have in between them makes this rivalry a breathtaking one.

The pair first met at UFC 182 where Jones defended his light heavyweight crown against the then-undefeated Cormier via a unanimous decision victory. The press conferences leading to the event were so boiled up as the two did put their hands on each other in front of the media. Flashback to UFC 187 where Cormier fought Anthony Johnson for the vacant light heavyweight title when Jones was stripped off the title due to a hit and run incident which resulted in a police case against Jones. Cormier choked out Johnson to win the belt and defended it against Gustafsson at UFC 192.

The duo was again scheduled to face at UFC 200 but Jones tested positive for some banned substances. After defending his title one more time against Anthony Johnson via submission at UFC 210, the pair finally met at UFC 214. Jones won the fight via head kick KO but soon his post-fight results pointed out a banned substance intake and the fight was turned into a no contest.

As it looked like the rivalry had been finally over but just a day ago Jones posted this on his Instagram trolling Cormier.

“Somebody tell champ stop sending me this BS”-Jon Jones

Jones had trolled DC previously on social media when DC weighed in at 206.2 lbs before the Johnson fight and mysteriously weighed in at 205lbs which is to be believed by putting his weight by holding a towel.

Meanwhile, Jones is returning to the octagon from a one and half year ban inflicted by USADA. He will be fighting Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 for the Light Heavyweight crown. This is a much-anticipated rematch as the duo previously gave the fight fans the all-time best fight of the Light Heavyweight division at UFC 165 which Jones emerged victorious via a decision.
