Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has revealed that he will be watching the much-anticipated heavyweight title fight between the heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and the interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane. Ngannou is scheduled to face Ciryl Gane for the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Championship on January 22, 2022, at UFC 270 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Jon Jones has been on a long layoff as he is preparing for his heavyweight debut which he plans to make in the mid of 2022. He recently revealed that he is watching the Ciryl Gane vs Francis Ngannou matchup closely.
Really have no clue who’s going to win, I’m just excited to watch the fight. Going to learn so much about the both of them no matter how it goes down https://t.co/e59QVSiuy7

Jon Jones plans his comeback in 2022
Jon Jones last fought Dominick Reyes on February 8, 2020, in the main event of UFC 247. Jones won the fight via controversial unanimous decision. After the fight, news came to the surface that 14 of 21 media outlets scored the fight for Reyes, and only 7 scored it for Jones. After this win, Jones set the new record for most wins in UFC title fight history with 14 wins. Jon Jones then vacated his belt and said he is planning to make his heavyweight debut and fight for the belt.
Jones has been targeted to fight multiple opponents like Francis Ngannou and Stipe Miocic but Jon and the UFC never came close to finalizing the deal, but eventually, all the fights fell apart.
“I’m looking to fight somewhere in April, possibly Madison Square Garden, or a total opposite date, possibly July at International Fight Week,” Jones told Albuquerque, N.M., TV station KRQE. “Those are the two dates that I’m kind of eying. I think it’ll depend on who wins in January between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane, and we’ll just take it from there.”
“As far as fighting, I feel like I’m in tremendous shape,” Jones said. “I’m excited to still be representing Albuquerque, New Mexico. I just recently joined with a team called Fight Ready out of Arizona. So I’ll be representing both teams moving forward.”
Now Jon Jones will have to wait for the UFC heavyweight division to give him an opponent as the heavyweight title will soon be on the line between two of the best heavyweights. If Jon Jones gets to fight to wither of the fighters, it will be one of the biggest fights in the UFC.
