Jon Jones mocks ‘hater’ Daniel Cormier on the sixth anniversary of the UFC 182 grudge match and makes him know that he is always going to be superior then Cormier.
On this day six years ago, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones ended a heated rivalry with Daniel Cormier by defending his title via unanimous decision at UFC 182. Six years after the first meeting between the two rivals, the bad blood still runs deep between Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) and Cormier (22-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC).
On the anniversary of that date, Jones reminder Cormier about his defeats not only to him but also too heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, to whom he lost twice in their trilogy (via Twitter):
Stipe is your rival I’m your superior.

UFC 182 is the only official win Jones has over Cormier on his resume, but they did compete a second time. Jones knocked out Cormier with a head kick and punches at UFC 214 in July 2017, but the result was overturned to a no-contest when Jones failed his post-fight drug test. “Bones” subsequently was stripped of the title.
Jones won both of his fights against Cormier, winning on points the first time and via third-round KO in the second. Both bouts were marred by post-fight drug positives, the first for cocaine and the second for oral turinabol. The latter came after a positive pre-fight drug test scratched a scheduled meeting at UFC 200 and resulted in a one-year suspension for him.
Cormier, 41, retired this past August after failing to recapture the heavyweight title from Miocic at UFC 252. He became the UFC’s second two-division champion when he knocked out Miocic in their first meeting at UFC 226; Miocic later retook the belt in a rematch at UFC 241. Since retirement, Jones and Cormier have continued to take shots at each other, particularly when one drops the other’s name in the media.
Jon Jones talks about his move to heavyweight
With Bones looking to challenge the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou sometime later this year, the UFC announced on New Year’s Eve that Adesanya would move up in weight to face Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight belt in a ‘Champ vs. Champ’ super fight at UFC 259 — and ‘Bones’ was sure to make his feelings known about the matchup on Twitter.
Jonny Bones unleashed a series of Tweets where he mocked Adesanya, Blachowicz, and the overall state of the light heavyweight division, although he didn’t call out ‘The Last Stylebender’ by name.
When I move, you move, just like that. 🎶
Name another fighter who’s made more men retire, switch weight classes, or switch organizations all together. I’ll wait— BONY (@JonnyBones) January 2, 2021
I left the LHW division because I was terrified of Dominic, even though Jan was guaranteed the next title shot.🤷🏾♂️ And then once the MW champ suddenly moved up, I knew I had made the right choice 😂 Glad I decided to go the easy route pic.twitter.com/3vXtuTvwcL

I didn’t leave the light heavyweight division to challenge myself, I ran out of fear 🥴😂 🐐 💩

Yep, just couldn’t see myself beating Jan, his style is like nothing I’ve seen before 🥴and the thought of fighting a middleweight striker in 2021 was the final straw, figured Francis take down defense was worse, had to run 🧠 https://t.co/88jAHojzlL
