UFC light heavyweight king Jon Jones entered himself in police custody as part of second ‘Driving under the influence’ (DUI) arrest.

Earlier this year in March, he was arrested and plead guilty in his hometown of Albuquerque on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container and no proof of insurance.

According to the KRQE News 13 report, ‘Bones’ will have to serve four days in the community custody program. He can perform services outside the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) as well by wearing an ankle monitor.

“A local UFC light heavyweight champion is on an ankle monitor now. In March he was arrested a second time for driving under the influence. Jones plead guilty and as part of his plea agreement today he began spending four days in MDC’s community custody program. That allows Jones to serve outside of MDC, while wearing an ankle monitor.”

The incident that had Jones arrested:

On March 26, the local police officers responded after gunshots were fired around 1 a.m. Officers reportedly found Jones inside a running vehicle. He however denied knowing anything about the gunshots.

A breathalyzer test was performed which showed a higher alcohol content than normal. Police then reportedly found a black handgun and a 750 ml bottle of Jorge Masvidal’s Recuerdo Mezcal. The term known as ‘Driving while intoxicated’ (DWI) occurs when alcohol content is 0.16 percent or higher on breathalyzer exam. According to New Mexico State law, 0.16 percent is twice above the legal limit.

In the arrest video released, Jones admits officer Brian Johnson that he’s had “like a drink” of vodka. He was further inspected with some sobriety tests wherein he seemed to have struggled. He then revealed the officers that he suffers from attention deficit disorder (ADD),“because he gets punched in the head for a living” and short-term memory loss.

Jones is currently facing some pay related disputes with the UFC. He is expected to campaign for a superfight since he has achieved pretty much anything the light heavyweight division has to offer. The front runner to face him is expected to be heavyyweight kingpin Francis Ngannou. He has also been demanding a money fight with boxing superstar Deontay Wilder.
