Former two-time welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal says he can’t wait to expose Colby Covington in their fight at UFC 272. Best friends turned rivals Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington will be going toe-to-toe against each other at UFC 272 in the main event on March 5 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Both of them are top-ranked UFC welterweights and have had similar paths in the welterweight division for the past couple of years. Both of them have challenged Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title twice and lost both of their title opportunities. Now after losing their last fights to Usman, the duo will finally be facing off against each other.

Jorge Masvidal in his latest interviews said that he is very eager to fight his arch-rival, Colby Covington. The duo has been engaging in trash-talking for past years.

“It’s so amazing that I’m going to get to punch this guy in the face,” Masvidal told Fox News’s, Jesse Watters. “And I really don’t like this guy, and I’m going to get paid for it – a big amount of money. And I can’t wait just to expose him once again to the world. He’s a charlatan.”

“If you don’t believe me, just ask him any – what’s his favorite law that Trump passed while Trump was in presidency, or anything like that,” Masvidal said. “Ask that idiot anything politically related. You’ll see he’s just a fraud, man. He’s just holding up books to get triggers and things like that, but he doesn’t know anything about what he talks about. And about fighting, he’s very limited. I’m going to show it, March (5), how limited he is.”

Colby Covington in his last conversation stated that he is looking to get the win over Jorge Masvidal and fight Kamaru Usman for the third time.

“It puts me right back in line to get another fight with Usman,” Covington recently said at the UFC 270 weigh-in show. “The people saw in Madison Square Garden and New York City what happened in that fight. I easily won three rounds. I think I won four rounds. The only round he clearly won was the second. I won the first, the third, the fourth and the fifth, so the people saw that. They want that fight again.

“There’s no one that’s on his level that can compete with him like I can, so this fight needs to happen again. There needs to be a trilogy because he hasn’t proved that he’s the better fighter. He hasn’t proved that he’s the best welterweight in the world, and there’s still unfinished business there. So I think after I finish Jorge Masvidal on March 5, it puts me right back in line to get my title shot.”
