Nick Diaz recently revealed on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show that he is eyeing UFC return next year against Jorge Masvidal who defeated his brother Nate Diaz earlier this month at UFC 244 in New York via TKO [Doctor’s stoppage].
He said that he wants to fight Masvidal in 2020 at the AT&T Stadium. He didn’t like some of the stuff Masvidal had said about his younger brother Nate Diaz during the build-up of the fight.
“All I see is f*cking dollar signs right now,” Diaz said of Masvidal (via MMA News). “It’s not on me. You wanna talk about baptizing my younger brother, that’s on you. I never had nothing disrespectful to say, but you don’t talk about baptizing my younger brother. So you’re already in a f*cked up position if you fight with me. You don’t f*cking talk about baptizing someone’s younger brother. That’s my baby brother, you don’t talk like that to nobody. So who rides on who’s side?
“You wanna say that? You wanna do that? You wanna walk? That’s on you,” Diaz added. “I can relate to you, that’s why I ain’t mad at you. But if you wanna walk, that’s on you.”
BMF champion Jorge Masvidal has since responded to Nick Diaz in a rather interesting way.
“@gamebredfighter official response to nick diaz.” – Masvidal’s manager Malki Kawa on Instagram.
Nick Diaz last fought inside the Octagon back in 2015 against Anderson Silva at UFC 183. Nick lost the fight initially via unanimous decision, but the result was soon overturned into an NC after Silva tested positive for drostanolone and androsterone and Diaz also ended up tested positive for marijuana.
