Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards seem to be a collision course. The two fighters have been exchanging words on Twitter and things are escalating quickly.

Jorge Masvidal has hit back strongly at Leon Edwards

It all started when Masvidal made it clear that he wants a ranked opponent for his return to the octagon. He last fought back in November 2017 when he suffered a defeat at the hands of former Welterweight contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson. Prior to this, he had suffered a decision loss to Demian Maia as well.

Leon Edwards took offence of Masvidal’s demand despite being this two-fight losing streak. Edwards tweeted out the following.

Masvidal, however, was in no mood to sit back and take the fire. He had a strong response to Edwards and went on to say that he has a bigger fan base in England than Edwards. He also called Edwards a ‘fake Brit’. You can see the tweet below.

Edwards is currently on a six-fight winning streak at the moment. His last win was the most memorable one as he managed to outclass Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in a five-round thriller. It would be interesting to see whether or not UFC will go ahead and pair these two up in the Octagon.
