Jorge Masvidal openly believes that Khamzat Chimaev has no ground to call for a UFC Welterweight title shot.

At this moment, the 170-pound gold is under the possession of Leon Edwards, who is fresh off a win over the former champ, Kamaru Usman at UFC 286. The next in line to get a shot at the title is Colby Covington, as announced by Dana White immediately after the event.

“You’re the man, Leon. You’re the guy. And everyone’s coming after you, and it’s going to be Colby next,” said White, but a few days later “Rocky” stated that he believes Covington doesn’t deserve the title shot and he himself as a say in who he accepts as a contender next.

Since then, many 170-pounders have been calling for the title shot, including Khamzat Chimaev, the 3rd ranked fighter in the division. The Chechnya-born-Swede was last seen in action against Kevin Holland at UFC 279 back in September, a fight originally booked against Nate Diaz but was changed after Chimaev missed weight by a huge 8.5-pound margin.

Go make weight before you talk about fighting: Jorge Masvidal

As “Borz” calls for title shots, not only at welterweight but at middleweight as well, Masvidal believes that Chimaev’s calls for title shots are unjust, given his catastrophic failure in making weight.

“He missed weight by 8.5 pounds get the f*ck out of here.” Masvidal said about Chimaev on The MMA Hour. “You’re still talking about how nobody wants to fight you, go make weight before you talk about fighting. That’s the first thing you know. Don’t do steroids, and make the f*cking weight you agreed upon as a man. You’re going to miss by 8 pounds and think it’s all cool and you can call people out? Get the f*ck out.”

In calling for the 185-pound title shot, Chimaev stated that Alex Pereira, the reigning middleweight champ, would be his easiest fight of his career- a statement that “Gamebred” vehemently disagrees with.

“I saw a comment of him calling out [Alex] Pereira, like who the f*ck are you? This is the world champion and you don’t even have a f*cking win over a top-15 guy. Get the f*ck out of here at 185. Go f*cking be like the rest of us, go put on your hard hat, go put in your mouthpiece, and get to work… Go fight and then talk,” added Masvidal. [H/T BJPenn.com]
