Back in August, Former featherweight champion of the world Jose Aldo said that he plans on moving down to bantamweight division in order to secure a title fight against UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion Henry Cejudo.
At that time fans didn’t take him seriously, but a recent pic of him looking shredded had fans believing that the talks of Aldo moving down to bantamweights were rather true. Now UFC officials confirmed that Aldo will indeed fight at bantamweight this December at UFC 245 against Marlon Moraes.
UFC 245 was already stacked before this fight was announced, but with the announcement of this fight, UFC is going all in to make the year-end card as the best entertainment value the fans can get for their money.
Aldo is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski earlier this year in Brazil at UFC 237. Volkanovski, on the other hand, will be fighting for the UFC featherweight title against Max Holloway on the very same card.
Marlon Moraes, on the other hand, is coming off of a fourth-round TKO loss to Henry Cejudo at UFC 238. Before that, he was riding on a four-fight winning streak having beaten guys like Aljamain Sterling, Jimmie Rivera, John Dodson, etc.
