Julianna Peña (11-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) is all geared up for the third encounter with her grudge rival Amdana Nunes (22-5 MMA, 15-2 UFC) and wants to settle the score once and for all.

The two locked horns for the first time at UFC 269 in December, when Peña pulled off a massive shocker and defeated Nunes via 2nd round submission to be crowned as the new UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

The much awaited rematch, which took place at UFC 277 on 30th July, saw Nunes in her well known devastative form as she completely dominated Peña throughout the five rounds to regain her belt.

Their two fight saga has become the most popular in mixed martial arts fandom in recent times and a trilogy between the two 135-pound elites has become one highly anticipated bout.

“I’m here, where you at Amanda?” Julianna Peña calls for trilogy before the end of 2022

Speaking on the UFC on ESPN 40 post-fight show on Saturday, Peña admitted that while she was caught by surprise by “The Lioness” switching up her stance to southpaw, she took it as a complement.

“When someone has entirely revamped and completely switched their entire stance, and their entire fighting style because of me, I take that as a complement, you know?” said Peña.

“The Venezuelan Vixen” also believes that with enough prep time, she will become invincible to Nunes in the trilogy, which she expects to happen before 2022 ends, and is also confident on going even eight rounds with the champion.

“And I think that if you give me time to get ready for both stances of Amanda, she doesn’t touch me next time. I’m just really hoping that she heals up and that she’s able to get back in there before the end of the year because I’ll absolutely be ready for that trilogy fight.”

“I’m ready to go Round 8 right now, like, let’s freakin’ go. I’m here, where you at Amanda? Amanda, seriously, where you at? You left your girl hanging out there. I showed up for Team Peña, she didn’t show up for Team Nunes. I’m here, I’m ready to go Round 8,” added Peña. [H/T MMA Junkie]

Earlier this week, UFC prez Dana White had proposed the idea of a trilogy between Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko, the reigning UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion. Nunes herself also had the same preference, and it remains to be seen how they receive Peña’s call for a trilogy.
