The former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion and current popular fan favourite UFC fighter Justin Gaethje is not just the fans’ darling because of his enthralling, and exciting carefree stand and trade style of fighting, but also because of his off the field activities.
Gaethje has time and time again been known for his philanthropic activities. The former collegiate amateur freestyle wrestler has been endeared by the fans due to him giving back to the community. Gaethje has now again done a similar thing and performed another great philanthropic act. The top ranked UFC lightweight contender has paid $1500 of students’ lunch debt in a district school
According to the local 9News, Gaethje made a donation to the school which specifically paid off the students’ lunch debts amounting to a total of $1538 for two different schools in the Denver Public School District. These debts had been accrued by the students this past school semester for lunch.
The two schools which benefitted from Gaethje’s generous donations were West Early College’s High School and Middle School. Both these schools later took to their social media pages on Facebook and thanked Gaethje for his donation. Here’s what the schools had to say over Gaethje’s heft donations:
West Early College families received a wonderful holiday gift today. Shout out to Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje who is a champion UFC fighter and friend to our Cowboys. We love and appreciate your generous gift! Thank you.
Gaethje has a professional MMA record of 21-2 and is currently on a three fight winning streak. He last fought and defeated fellow fan favourite fighter Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone via TKO due to punches in the very first round of their fight back in September at UFC Fight Night 158. Gaethje’s next opponent is currently undecided. Though, he has been gunning for either a big money fight against Conor McGregor or a title shot against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
