Justin Gaethje wants to fight Dustin Poirier after Michael Chandler

Former Interim Lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has predicted that he will fight Dustin Poirier after he defeats Michael Chandler at UFC 268.

Former title challenger Justin Gaethje has given some bold predictions regarding the upcoming UFC lightweight division fights. Gaethje is expected to face Chandler at UFC 268 in a high-stakes lightweight match. UFC 268 is currently planned to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, according to company president Dana White.

Another fight that is supposed to take place in the lightweight division is between the champion Charles Oliveira and no.1 contender Dustin Poirier. According to Justin Gaethje’s prediction, he feels that he is going to beat Chandler and Poirier will be defeating Oliviera in their matchup. Then Justin wants to face Dustin Poirier for the lightweight championship which will also be their rematch as the duo fought back in 2018 in a fight of the year contender.

“@DustinPoirier will KO @CharlesDoBronxz in December. After I break @MikeChandlerMMA on Nov 6th at any venue on the planet, I will get my rematch and you will see a replay of the best fight that happened on earth in 2018. That’s a year to look forward to,” Gaethje tweeted.”

Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler don’t like each other

Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler is the fight that every fight fan asked for and the UFC delivered it. The duo will come face to face in the octagon at UFC 268. Recently the duo was facing each other but they were separated by a tv screen. In a recent media interaction, Justin and Michael shared some words.

“I got nothing mean to say,” Gaethje said on Friday’s UFC 265 weigh-in show, where Chandler served as a co-host. “We do mean things to each other one night a year. It’s been a while since I fought someone I didn’t like. For some reason you’re a little different. I think it was James Vick, the last guy I fought that I didn’t like. It’ll be fun to punch you in the face.”

Justin also talked about the location of the fight as he felt New York might not be the exact right location for them considering the rise in COVID-19 cases.

“I don’t think it’ll be in New York City,” he said. “I think it’ll be in probably Texas or something, somewhere way sweeter than New York City. New York City sucks. Anywhere outside of that place, and we’ll be good to go.”

“I’m excited to fight someone I don’t like,” he said. “It’s been a while. I have no reason not to like you. Something about your face just makes me want to punch it.”
