UFC lightweight juggernaut Justin Gaethje absolutely floored Edson Barboza this past Saturday at UFC on ESPN 2. This was Gaethje’s second consecutive first round knockout win. Justin is currently ranked number 8th in the UFC lightweight rankings, a fact that is hard to digest for him. Just ranked ahead of him is “Cowboy”, something that “The Highlight” finds harder to live with.
“UFC, what the hell are you thinking moving Donald Cerrone in front of me?” Gaethje said during his Octagon interview with Jon Anik. “He beat the number 15 guy and he just gets to jump ahead of me? You guys are crapping on every bit of… This is ridiculous.
“But, hey, on to the next one. There’s five or six guys in front of me, I want each and every one of them.”
Gaethje’s frustration spilled over in the post fight interview as well. While talking to Megan Olivi he reiterated the same sentiments.
“It’s just crazy to me to see these things happen, but I’m gonna go to war for myself,” he said. “They will pay me what I want to get paid, they will give me the fights I want. I deserve that now.”
Gaethje’s performance earned him his fifth straight post fight performance award.
