A good news for fight fans is on its way as a match made in heaven, Justin Gaethje vs. Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis is in works and will probably happen early 2019.
Anthony Pettis (age 31) last fought against Tony Ferguson at UFC 229. The fight was the co-main event and was one hell of a fight. Though Anthony Pettis lost the fight as he was unable to continue due to a broken hand which he suffered during round 2, causing Pettis’s corner to call a stop to the fight. The fight was later awarded as Fight of the Night.
Justin Gaethje (age 29) last fought against James Vick at UFC Fight Night 135 where Gaethje won the match with a first-round KO that sent Vick out cold to the canvas. Justin Gaethje was later awarded Performance of the Night bonus.
Both of them are the lightweight division’s most entertaining fighters and are 2-2 in their last four fights.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN tweeted, “Per multiple sources, UFC looking to book Justin Gaethje vs. Anthony Pettis. It’s not done and there’s no date just yet, but that’s the matchup currently in the works. Would be early next year.”
