Kalyl Silva just showed the world that he is set to follow the footsteps of his father Anderson Silva, as he just made his combat sports debut with an 8-second knockout in his first kickboxing match.
A former soccer player, in the United Premier Soccer League, Kalyl made his kickboxing debut at FightersRep 10 in California this weekend. The 22-year-old faced Anthony Reynaga in a 159-pound bout. Gabriel, another son of Anderson Silva, was also supposed to fight on the card but called it quits before the bout.
Like father, like son: Kalyl Silva looks promising as a future combat sports icon
A deja-vu of how his father ‘The Spider’ thrashed opponents in the cage, Kalyl showed the same level of domination as he knocked out Reynaga with the very first kick he threw, registering a knockout win in just eight seconds.
The youngster shared a clip of the fight on his official Instagram, check it out below-

Even though the referee didn’t call the stoppage until 11 seconds into the first round, the official result reads Kalyl the winner by KO in just eight seconds, a spectacular example that he has indeed inherited the blisteing knockout powers from his father, who was present at his corner.
Silva (34–11 MMA, 2-1 boxing), who reigned as the UFC middleweight champion for eight years, parted ways with the Octagon in October last year and returned to the squared circle this year after a gap of sixteen years.
On 19th June, Silva defeated former WBC middleweight boxing champion boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via an eight round split decision win at the Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara, Mexico, marking the second victory of his three fight sparring career.
The 46-year-old is set to return to action again on 11th September in Los Angeles in his next boxing match against former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz, the co-main event of Triller’s Oscar De La Hoya vs. Vitor Belfort card.
