Kamaru Usman warns Conor McGregor off the ‘nightmare’ of gunning for the Welterweight title

The UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has warned the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, not to climb up and even think about or try to make a title challenge for Usman’s UFC welterweight belt.

McGregor is all set and ready to make his return to fighting this month. He last fought and brutally lost to the current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov via submission due to a neck crank in the third round at UFC 229. McGregor got a long medical suspension and then failed to get booked for a comeback fight. Thus, he has been sitting on the sidelines since October of 2018.

Usman has issued a strong warning to McGregor. The welterweight champion had recently defended his title against his dreaded rival and the former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington at UFC 245. Usman, a.k.a. The Nigerian Nightmare put in a spectacular performance breaking Chaos Covington’s jaw in the third round and then later brutally knocking him out in the fifth round due to punches.

The Nigerian Nightmare took to Twitter and addressed the possibility of McGregor making a potential title challenge at welterweight by warning the Irish superstar. Here’s what he had to say:

My man @TheNotoriousMMA please just go in there and take your L from cowboy. Don’t even dream of this WW strap because that dream can turn into an Nightmare fast.
