UFC is trying to schedule the Kevin Holland vs Kyle Daukaus rematch for the UFC Fight Night event which takes place on November 13. The last fight between Kevin Holland and Kyle Daukaus ended in a no contest. The duo clashed their heads in the very first round of the fight which lead to Kevin falling on the ground and being barely conscious. He then got submitted by kyle following the same exchanges. After lots of discussions and talks between the referee and the commission, the fight was declared as a ‘No contest’. Now the UFC is set to run back this fight at UFC Fight Night on November 13 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The fight was first reported by UFC broadcast partner ESPN.
Kevin Holland was ready for the rematch
Kevin Holland entered his last fight with Kyle with a point to prove. After losing back-to-back main events to Marvin Vettori and Derek Brunson, he took some time off to work on his wrestling and came back stronger in this fight as he stopped Kyle’s attempt to take him down. But the fight-ending sequence was unexpected to him as he got caught by the headbutt.
“I don’t remember anything,” Holland told reporters at the UFC Fight Night 193 post-fight press conference. “I felt myself hit the ground and all the sudden I felt him on my back. So whatever happened in between that, that’s just goodwill and God-given.”
“I want to run it back, I want to run it back right now,” Holland said. “I want to run it back with anyone that’s gotten the better of me, so yeah, I want to run it back.
“Sh*t, if Johnny Walker would’ve gotten hurt tonight, I would’ve gone to 205 and run it back with Thiago (Santos). I’m that guy. If he wants to go somewhere else, that’s because he felt the head-butt was the best thing that could’ve happened to him. I got respect for Kyle, Chris and the Daukaus family, but the fight game is the fight game and I don’t feel like it’s over.”
Now Kevin Holland will get his second shot at Kyle Daukaus and he will definitely be looking forward to this rematch and getting back to the win column.
