Kevin Lee calls for Conor McGregor bout: Fighting me would make sense if he wants to get back to Khabib!

The former UFC interim lightweight challenger Kevin Lee has got back to winning ways in extremely spectacular fashion by brutally knocking out Gregor Gillespie in the very first round at UFC 244. Lee now has his eyes firmly set on taking on the former UFC champ champ Conor McGregor.

In a recent interview given to MMA Fighting, Lee revealed that he wants to fight the Irishman on January 18th but the UFC won’t let him fight or even let him be near McGregor because he is too difficult of a match-up for him. Here’s what he had to say:

They’re still trying to find an opponent for Conor McGregor on Jan. 18, I know they’re talking about “Cowboy” [Donald Cerrone], but there’s no contract signed there. If he’s a little bit like me, if he’s a competitor at his heart, then he’s going to want to take on the tough wrestler. He should if he wants to get back to Khabib [Nurmagomedov] and really wants to get back into title contention. That fight would make sense.
