Kevin Lee says Tony Ferguson

Kevin Lee will be back in action in the octagon after a long time. The lightweight prospect last fought against Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC Fight Night 170. The fight was pretty competitive as long as it lasted but by the third round of the fight Lee started to slow down and Charles picked up the face. Eventually, Charles Oliveira locked in a deep guillotine choke in the third round and submitted Kevin.

Now Kevin was ready for his comeback fight against the UFC’s undefeated lightweight prospect Sean Brady. the fight was first scheduled to take place at UFC but Kevin suffered an unfortunate injury and had to step out. the fight was again rescheduled to UFC on ESPN 30 on August 28, 2021. But this time it was Sean Brady who got a foot infection and had to pull out from the fight. Now Daniel Rodriguez has stepped up to fight Kevin Lee on short notice and the fight will take place on the planned date at UFC on ESPN 30.

Kevin Lee talks about Tony Ferguson Rematch

Kevin Lee recently talked about his fight with Tony Ferguson. The duo fought at UFC 216 as the main event while fighting for the interim UFC lightweight championship. The fight was a back and forth battle and Kevin was getting the better of Ferguson in the early rounds. But in the third round, Tony caught him in a triangle choke and ended up submitting Lee and winning the interim title. Now after four years Kevin says that he has no interest in that rematch and has moved on from it.

“That was a fight that I was interested in up until I saw him just get dismantled by Charles Oliveira (at UFC 256), especially on the ground,” Lee said. “That one would kind of hurt my heart a little bit because I would beat him so bad that it would just of take away from our first fight. That’s one — I would do it, of course, I would do it, easy money is easy money at this point — but I think he’s too far gone, I think he’s too far over the hill. I don’t like beating up on people that don’t put up a good fight.”

The lost interest in the fight was due to the obvious reason that Tony is facing a huge downfall in his MMA career. Since losing his 12-fight win streak Tony has now jumped up on a 3-fight losing streak. While Kevin Lee is now set to make a comeback in the welterweight division.
