Former UFC interim lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee has expressed his interest in a fight with the wild welterweight, Mike Perry. The fight callout looks perfect considering the decline both of them have recently experienced in their fighting career. Kevin Lee recently fought at UFC Vegas 35 against Daniel Rodriguez who replaced injured Sean Brady. Kevin was scheduled to fight Sean Brady twice but the fight seems to face consistent bad luck and was scrapped twice. This time around Daniel agreed to replace Sean on very short notice and put on a brilliant performance against Kevin. Now facing back-to-back losses Kevin has called out Mike Perry who is riding his own losing streak.
Kevin Lee was very disappointed after his recent loss. He came back after a year off due to injuries. Prior to this fight he had fought Charles Oliveira and lost via submission. This fight against Daniel was his comeback at the welterweight division. He had a good early start but got cracked in the second round and was tired by the third round of the fight. Rodriguez then picked up the pace and secured the win for himself.
After losing the fight Lee opened up about his loss and expressed his frustration in his Instagram post.
“Didn’t have a good performance this last time out but honestly after 500 days away and multiple surgeries I’m proud of what I was able to do,” Lee wrote on Instagram. “I tried climbing a very tall mountain and this was just another speed-bump on the way. My best performances are ahead of me and I know that.
“I don’t care if I have to bump my head to get there I won’t stop until I figure this shit out. I’m still competing with the best in the world and won’t hang my head just yet. If you have something negative to say f*ck you from bottom of my heart. F*ck all the hate yell [sic] can burn in hell. And thank you to everyone who has reached out with love. I’m not done yet. Not at all.”
Even though he said he isn’t done yet, UFC president Dana White stated that he is thinking about Kevin and he might get cut from the UFC.
Dana says they will figure out what’s next for Kevin Lee. “Here or not here.”
Kevin Lee calls out Mike Perry
Now Kevin recently tweeted about a potential fight with Platinum Mike Perry who is facing a similar downfall in his career.
@PlatinumPerry December sound good to me

“@PlatinumPerry December sound good to me”
Platinum Mike Perry started his UFC career with a bang as he went 4-1 in his first five UFC fights. Though he has never backed away from scrap he is not performing well in the octagon and is getting dominated by his opponents, he is 1-4 in his last five fights. He is himself coming off a decision loss to Daniel Rodriguez who just beat Kevin Lee, so the matchup seems perfect at the moment.
