The news of Conor Mcgregor’s retirement yesterday came as a bolt out of the blue. The retirement also generated a lot of reactions from his fans and colleagues alike.
Conor’s last opponent and the reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov didn’t hold back his feelings towards McGregor’s retirement and delivered a short and strong message.

Many believe Conor’s devastating loss at the hands of Khabib may be the reason for his sudden permanent exile from the game. However, that would only be the case if this time the news of his retirement is actually true and not a marketing tactic like that in 2016.
With that said, the jigsaw puzzle that the UFC’s lightweight division has become now has to do with a big piece missing. That would also mean that Khabib, after competing his suspension, will most probably fight the winner of Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje.
