UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and football megastar Cristiano Ronaldo partnered up to make the wishes of a specially abled child come true. Both of them took time out during the holiday season to surprise the 12-year old Ali Turganbekov.
The Dagestani born fighter met Turganbekov during a trip to Kazakhastan. Ali was born with no legs but had an innate love for the game of football. His resilient attitude has led to him sharing the football with modern days marvels such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Gerard Pique.
When Khabib got the opportunity to share the stage with his fan, he didn’t disappoint him either. The two had a few kicks around which would have surely brought a smile to Ali’s face. He shared an image of him along with Khabib on Instagram.
The undefeated champion posted his own Instagram photo with his arm wrapped around the boy.
“It was nice to meet you brother,” Nurmagomedov wrote.
The Juventus star, Christiano Ronaldo, decided to make one more dream come true by meeting Ali Turganbekov. He was accompanied by his son Cristiano Jr, Ronaldo while he met the 12-year old, Turganbekov. This incident happened while he was on a break in Dubai. Ronaldo posted a clip on Instagram of himself along with his son and Ali practicing their football skills.
“It was a pleasure to meet you @ali_amir_happy,” he wrote. “A truly inspiration.”
Khabib was pleased by Ronaldo’s generosity and commented “legend” in the comments. He then shared the same video on his Instagram and wrote:
“That’s why you the best in the world,” he wrote in the caption. “Thank you so much @cristiano. You make my brother happy @ali_amir_happy.”
Even prior to this, Khabib has indulged himself in a lot of social work. He has built a training facility in Dagestan earlier this year. After his last fight with Dustin Poirier, he donated his gloves to auction for Dustin’s charity. He also brought about the idea of a fight in Africa to improve the economic conditions of the continent.
Khabib’s next fight is scheduled with Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 on 19 Apr, 2020.
