UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev has issued a latest call out to face Alex Pereira, and has vowed to finish the newly crowned UFC middleweight champion within just one round.

‘Poatan’ defeated longtime kickboxing rival Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 281 by technical knockout in the fifth round to win the title, and marking his third win over Izzy, counting the two prior ones in kickboxing.

On the other hand, Chimaev is sooner or later going to have to move up in division to 185 pounds. While it is yet not known if Pereira will be in first fight in middleweight, but sooner or later ‘The Wolf’ will make a run for the divisional crown, and he already has his sights set on Pereira and his title, as he made clear after the event in a series of tweets.

“Let me fight with this guy, 1 road finish him ⚔️✊🏼”

“@AlexPereiraUFC congratulations 👏 let’s see who is the best ⚔️🐺”

“easy money 💸💸💸🤪🤪🤪”

“Ready to fight in Brazil @AlexPereiraUFC let’s go champ 🤪🤝”

Soon afterwards, Borz took to Instagram to compare his own professional MMA record (12-0) to that of Pereira (6-1) and asked Dana White, the UFC prez, to make the fight a possibility. Chimaev concluded that he is even ready to step into enemy territory and fight Pereira in his motherland.

“this guy did fight for the belt with a 6-1 record, let me smash him, I have a record 12-0 let’s go brother make it happen,” wrote Chimaev.

Chimaev has a 6-0 record in the Octagon and is coming off a 1st round submission win over Kevin Holland at UFC 279, a fight originally slated to be against Nate Diaz but after Chimaev missed weight, he was put in a catchweight (180 lb) bout against Holland.

Pereira, who made his UFC debut in November last year at UFC 268, dethroned Adesanya after the Nigerian’s three-year long title reign, which started with ‘The Last Stylebender’ unifying his interim 185-pound title against former champ Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 in October 2019.
